***Dinghy racing Saturdays*** ***Rum Run on Sat 3rd October – sign up on members pages***
In support of the battle against Covid-19 we have postponed all Social functions at the Sailing Club.
The clubhouse and on-water events program will continue to offer members the recreational enjoyment we are able to, whilst strictly adhering to UK Government rules and guidelines.
The most important thing at the club is it’s members and we will do everything in our powers to keep people safe. If you feel you are in the most vulnerable group please keep safe and stay indoors.
If you need to find out anything more about club activities please email: health@portchestersc.org this will go to various different committee members who will be able to help.
The latest Government guide lines can be found here https://www.gov.uk/guidance/coronavirus-covid-19-information-for-the-public

Our Club
Welcome to Portchester Sailing Club – one of finest sailing centres on the south coast
Portchester Sailing Club is a growing and thriving family friendly sailing club; perfectly situated right on the sheltered Northern reaches of Portsmouth Harbour. The Club is a recognised RYA Training and Onboard Centre, and it is ideally set up to introduce sailing to the wider community, with particular emphasis on introducing our local schools to having fun on the water. The Club also offers great angling opportunities, both from the nearby foreshore, and from boats in the harbour or Solent. Our Angling section has also been awarded Clubmark status with the Angling Trust.
If you’re looking for a great location from where you can enjoy sailing or angling, either for fun or competitively, Portchester Sailing Club ticks all the boxes.
Sailing
We have an extensive range of waterborne activities throughout the year, including regular dinghy and cruiser races, training courses and fun events for both junior and senior members. After a very short time at Portchester SC, you’ll soon get to know people who will always be happy to help with whatever activity you choose.
Training
We offer courses for both adults and children, with a range of both dinghy and powerboat courses, together with first aid training and angling coaching throughout the year. Portchester SC is a recognised RYA Training Centre, and during the winter months we run Day Skipper and Yachtmaster courses delivered by RYA Approved instructors.
Angling
The Angling Section of the Portchester Sailing Club has been a part of the Club’s since 1969 and has developed into a thriving group comprising all ages and abilities. You’ll have the chance to meet members from other clubs at one of our many competitions and events held throughout the year with numerous trophies on offer.
Visitors
Our members are friendly, sociable, helpful and very welcoming. There are many who are highly skilled and are enthusiastic about sharing their knowledge across our wide range of activities. The club owns a range of craft for use by club members for both training and recreational purposes with a number of moorings available.
